The annual US Open is one of the premier sporting events in the world putting the Open at Queens on the sports map.
Every August the USTA National Tennis Centre in Flushing Meadows Corona Park hosts the two-week tournament.
Players compete in Men's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Singles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. CBS, USA
Network, and many international broadcasters will carry the action live as last year's winners Roger Federer and
Svetlana Kuznetsova return to defend their crowns.
Matches occur during the day (11 a.m.) and at night (7 p.m.) on most days of the tournament, and US Open Tennis Ticket matches are held in several
venues within the grounds of the USTA National Tennis Center. Arthur Ashe Stadium hosts the top-seeded matches and
the finals.
Although the main tournament is the most famous, it's a lot of fun to check out the free Qualifying Tournament and
Practice Day before the main US Open Tennis Ticket open begins. Kids Day is also a great free event for children and their families.
These events are a very good value to get close to the tennis action. Another option to consider is the relatively
cheap admission to the USTA grounds during the first eight days of the tournament, which gives you access to many of
the matches.

Qualifying Tournament
Admission is free to the US Open Tennis Ticket Qualifying Tournament held on field courts at the USTA National Tennis Centre.
Watch professional tennis players compete to qualify for berths in the US Open. It's a great chance to see
very good tennis. Although the top players don't need to qualify, many of them will spend this time practicing
at the USTA (in addition to Open Practice Day).
When: Tuesday, August 23, to Friday, August 26. Gates open at 10 a.m.

Arthur Ashe Kids' Day
Admission to the grounds on US Open Tennis Ticket Kids' Day is free for children and their families, and it includes entertainment and
tennis. For the tennis and music shows to be held inside the stadium, tickets are needed ($10-$20).
When: Saturday, August 27, from 9 a.m. Stadium show is noon to 2 p.m. (Rain date is August 29.)
Cost: Free for grounds admission; $10 to $20 for stadium seating. Purchase tickets via Ticketmaster.com or 1-866-OPEN-TIX.
Open Practice Day
Come see many world-class tennis stars getting ready for the opening day of the US Open Tennis Ticket tournament.
When: Sunday, August 28. Gates open at 11 a.m.
Cost: Free - Make sure to get there early for a seat.
US Open Main Tournament
Night sessions for the US Open Tennis Ticket are cheaper and usually cooler. The weather in late August and early September can still be very
hot and humid in NYC.
When: Monday, August 29, to Sunday, September 11. See the official US Open schedule for match times.
Women's Final: Saturday, September 10, 7 p.m.
Men's Final: Sunday, September 11, noon.
Tickets: Seats in Arthur Ashe Stadium range from $22 to $94, depending on the day of tournament, day or evening
session, and seating in the lower or upper promenade. Evening US Open Tennis Ticket matches are much cheaper than those during the day.

The USTA National Tennis Center Box Office in Flushing Meadows Park (open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
If a US Open Tennis Ticket session is cancelled due to inclement weather or rain, tickets can be exchanged for 2006 US Open events.
Grounds Admissions
There are US Open Tennis Ticket for the USTA grounds, which dependent upon seating availability allow access to the tournament
sessions played in Louis Armstrong Stadium, the Grandstand, and the field courts. This is a pretty good deal.
Plus, you might see a celebrity stroll past. Make sure you arrive early to check out all the action.
